Most children find the actual train itself very exciting. On certain routes, we offer NSB FAMILIE – a coach for those of you travelling with children, making the journey even more enjoyable.

The NSB FAMILIE coach has space for prams/pushchairs. Storage space can be ordered through the NSB Call Centre on +47 815 00 888/+47 23 15 15 15 or at one of our manned stations when purchasing your ticket.

This facility is included in the price of your ticket, but it is best to order it in advance to guarantee storage space.

NSB FAMILIE is available on the following routes:

• Oslo - Trondheim
• Oslo - Kristiansand - Stavanger
• Oslo - Bergen

Family discount – Children go free
For each full-fare adult ticket, one child aged between 4 and 15 can travel free with you on all departures. Other children over 4 travel at half price. Children under 4 always travel free, whether the adult holds a standard ticket or a discounted ticket.

In Akershus, customers holding an adult single ticket or a Kupongkort (coupon card) can take up to 4 children free on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, with the exception of 1st and 17th May. In Oslo, the offer applies to travellers holding an adult Flexikort, Dagskort or Ruter-kupongkort. Separate rules apply within Oslo and Akershus in the summer months - call Trafikanten on 177.

The family discount does not apply to local journeys within the Oslo and Akershus tariff zone (Ruter), or to journeys on Trondheim Local Trains in the Trøndelag tariff zone.
