The card entitles the holder to an unlimited number of public transport journeys within Akershus and Oslo. The card is for personal use and is valid for one calendar month at a time.

Who can purchase the card?
Full-time students registered at an educational establishment in Akershus or Oslo who can produce valid student ID are entitled to purchase Ruter’s student card. The card can be used until the end of the month in which the holder's thirtieth birthday occurs.

Where and how do you purchase the student card?
When purchasing a card for the first time, remember to bring a passport photo and valid student ID which shows that you have paid your tuition fees. You can purchase Ruter’s student card at all NSB ticket offices. The card can also be purchased from Trafikanten at Jernbanetorget in Oslo, and the bus terminals at Galleri Oslo and Lillestrøm. You can renew your card at the above places and also in a number of kiosks and shops and some filling stations (see the “Ruter tariffs Ruter Card points-of-sale" leaflet).

Ruter’s student card offers 40% student discount and costs NOK 800 per month.
