Whether you are visiting friends or family, or commuting to school or college, as a student, you are entitled to a discount on NSB. With valid documentation, you will receive a 25% discount on standard tickets for all departures. Students between the age of 16 and 30 also receive approximately 40% discount on 30-days season tickets.

What is valid identification?

• Student identification card with photo proving you are in paid tuition
• Attestation from your school or college, together with your bank card, passport or other type of approved photo ID
• ANSA or ISIC-card does not give you right to discounts

Where to buy discounted tickets
Our standard student discounts are not valid within Trondheim, Stavanger or Oslo, where there are special local authority arrangements. Read more about student discounts within Oslo and Akershus county here.

Discounts are not available on supplements or seat reservations. Special student tickets can be purchased online at nsb.no, at stations or by phoning NSB Customer Service on +47 815 00 888. If you are travelling on an NSB Regiontog (inter-city) service, our Minipris tickets from NOK 199 are even better value than the discounted student rate. But check in advance for availability.
